Welcome The Unwelcome is a Cape York–based practice grounded in Social Justice Photography, working alongside Rainbow Mob Cape York, First Nations Sistergirl and Brotherboy, and the wider Indigenous LGBTQIA+ community. The work centres lived experience, cultural identity, and community narratives, with a focus on visibility, self-representation, and respectful storytelling. Led by and connected with LGBTQIA+ photographers, the practice documents social realities while acknowledging the ongoing impact of culture, place, and history.
